| I bought my bersa cc over a year ago and am delighted with it. Bought it because of the reliability and cost. | |

| I got my concealed carry permit so I could have a loaded gun in my car with me without breaking the law. After I took the concealed carry class, I decided I should carry, but I needed something besides the Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum revolver I owned. I looked at .380 pistols because they seemed small enough to conceal easily, but the Walthers and Sig Sauer models I saw were too expensive. I had never heard of Bersa, but the Thunder 380 I held in my hand at the gun store seemed every bit as well made as the more expensive pistols, so I rolled the dice and bought the Bersa. I've been a Bersa fan ever since. | |

| Many years ago I owned a Walther PP in .32 cal - before James Bond made the PPK famous!
Loved that pistol but so did the police - who confiscated it after I took it away from my stepfather and hit him in the head with it.
Anyway, one bright day I walked up to the gun counter at Cabela's and there sat a Bersa Thunder .380. Not an exact match for my PP: it was blue and the PP was nickel - but it was close enough and everthing else fell into place - size, weight, DA/SA.
So I bought it - even though I didn't need another gun - and joined the original BersaTalk forum where I learned about the Firestorm .22. Bought one of those, too: just to practice with, you understand.
When I had that heart attack, my son generously gave both guns to my daughter. (In his favor, he let me keep my S&W M&P.)
I was so happy to see the way my daughter took to shooting (and she's good at it) (Darn it!) that instead of asking for their return, I bought a Bersa .380CC for myself.

That heart attack was slightly over two years ago and since then I've been fine. Even my pacemaker has been quiet. I don't especially like mentioning it but there seems to be a tendency (in me, anyway) to date things Before Attack and After Attack. Here's the story in a nutshell and only because it relates to guns: The incident is what's known as a Sudden Death attack and it happened as I was about to enter the County courthouse to apply for my CCW permit. (Might be some irony there.) One month later, I finished that walk and got my application in. Been packin' ever since.

| Good for you. I didn't mean to pry, but I remember you saying about it on the "other" forum. I'm just glad everything is OK now. Like I said, God bless you. | |

| You weren't prying, Duke. I should have clarified: The reason I don't like to talk about it on forums is because I don't want to sound like I'm trolling for sympathy. (By the way, thanks for your good wishes.) However, I did publish an article shortly after the event, detailing the entire experience. Anyone who wishes to know more will find it all here: http://www.useless-knowledge.com/1234/09jan/article017.htmlNote: May have to turn off your pop-up controls. | |

| I suppose I should update that story. It was written in 2009, shortly after I came home from the hospital. Then, after three months of chemo and a monthly of daily radiation treatments, my doctors got rid of the cancer. I've been clean for eighteen months. | |
