Just purchased a new Bersa Thunder. Was wondering if I need to take it down and clean it. It does not seem to be all oiled up or anything? Thanks

you have armchair experts that will tell you it's an absolute must
My Thunder .380, Taurus .40 I had, and S&W .40 all were bought brand new and I didn't clean any of them before shooting. 0 FTF/FTE's. Matter of factly the S&W went on 3 different outings after I bought it, before it was ever cleaned. About 300 rounds through it

if you have the time and stuff go ahead, if not i wouldn't worry about it

I know, I used to be a member of another Bersa type site, but due to circumstances beyond my control, they lost interest in me. Now I am here and I like it so far. BJ

that gunk on your Bersa is a preservative, to protect it until someone buys it, & not a lubricant. gun & mags should be cleaned & the gun lightly lubed before range time.

if your bersa has a Nickel finish, don't use anything that has ammonia in it.

happy shooting & welcome,
PP
